Original Recipe from: Kay Johnson-Tomblin
I started making this salad about 20 years ago and it’s always a hit. Serve it as a side dish for a family dinner or dinner party, or take it to a pot-luck event. It’s very easy to make and looks great on the table. Enjoy!
Ingredients
1 large Broccoli (tops only)
1/2 cup sliced or slivered Almonds
1/2 cup Raisins
1 teaspoon minced Onions
2/3 cup Miracle Whip
1/3 cup Sugar
5 slices Bacon, cooked and crumbled
Directions
Cut broccoli in bite size pieces. Soak in salt water for 2-3 hours (or overnight). Drain.
Mix Miracle Whip and Sugar together and toss with the Broccoli. Let stand until ready to serve.
Add Raisins and Bacon just before serving.
Tip: Soak raisins in water for a few minutes to plump them up.
